Western Reserve Community Band Annual Christmas Concert

Join your friends and neighbors and enjoy the sounds of the season at our annual Christmas Concert on Sunday afternoon December 12, 2021 at 4:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall of the First Congregational Church of Hudson located at 47 Aurora Street in Hudson, OH. Hudson resident and Conductor Ralph Meyer, who founded the band in 1997, says the audience will enjoy a holiday music tour de force. This concert is free (no admission charged) and open to the community, please bring your family and friends! PLEASE NOTE: Everyone Must Wear a Mask to Attend

The program will include a variety of Christmas favorites including: A Christmas FestivalWinter WonderlandThree Moods of Hanukkah, a concert band classic Overture Jubiloso, an classical piece Troika from Lieutenant Kije, an erie Minor Alterations: Christmas Through The Looking Glass, an unusual mashup One Torch, Two Women, Three Ships, a jazzy take on Good Swing Wenceslas, audience participation with A Christmas Pops Sing Along, and finishing the program with an holiday favorite Leroy Anderson’s Sleigh Ride.

The Western Reserve Community Band, founded in 1997, has grown to over 60 members from 19 surrounding communities. Our mission is to provide musical entertainment and cultural enrichment to communities throughout northeastern Ohio. The band is open to all adult instrumental musicians in Summit County and the surrounding area. Weekly rehearsals are held at the Hudson Middle School Band Room on Thursdays from 7:00 – 8:30 p.m.

The band performs a wide variety of transcriptions, traditional band literature, marches, Broadway, show and popular tunes. There are no auditions, and the conductor determines the seating based on ability and musical need. Membership in the band is offered to the community through the Hudson Community Education & Recreation program.
